Very creative!

This set is made with more details than the other wooden set. I like how they are painted on the inside to make it look realistic. The edges are polished unlike the other set. I gave it 4 stars because the pieces of the pear have 2 different colors on the outside. They don't look like they would go together because it looks so different.

Paint chips

This is the melissa and doug fruit crate set. It is rather large (life sized), thereby taking up a lot of play kitchen space. The paint chips off very badly within first use. I will not buy anymore melissa and doug food items because of that. Play food made by plan toys, hape/educo, and haba is supposed to be good.

Wooden Fruit Set - Next Child Food Star

Just as described. My 2.5 yr. old son was (and still is) fascinated and entertained with this ingenious and creative "toy." Another brilliant invention by Melissa & Doug. Upon opening, he was mesmerized for almost two hours in silence while he "chopped" fruit independently. Highly recommended.

I was disappointed to find that this set is by Melissa and Doug and not by PBK as sold last year. I do like Melissa and Doug; however, I like the set by PBK. There were less pieces that made clean up easier and were better suited for my child's smaller hands.

My twins recieved this as a gift and it has been one of their favorite toys. After 2 years, all the pieces still look pretty good, except for a few spots where paint is chipping. They enjoy cutting with the wooden knife and serving the fruit at pretend picnics and tea parties.

Great Gift....

We gave the fruit and vegetable food sets to our grandchildren for Christmas along with the Grocery Store front... they had the best time playing with their new toys! They really enjoyed cutting the fruit and vegetables apart and then putting them back together!

This is a really neat toy...this toy is made by melissa and doug....the quality is excellent. My daughter loves this toy ; she pretends to cook and shop with them. We are also using them to help her learn her colors. I love that the foods can be cut into halfs or some in quarters ; we are using them to introduce her to fractions.

Awesome toy for Hours of Play

I purchased this toy for my two and a half year old's "best" friend. Both of them are the same age and could not wait to get this out of the package! They loved taking turns cutting the different fruit. We thought that there was going to be a problem with sharing since only one knife comes with the set. But if you have multiple kids, then a popsicle stick or even a tongue depressor stick works just as well! And the kids did not even notice that they were using different knives. They played together for three hours with this toy on the first day! Now I have to buy another for my son to use at home!

I absolutely love this set. My grandchildren and their parents were delighted. I also ordered the vegetable set. The wooden pieces are perfect for little hands...the quality is excellent. The imaginative play was so refreshing. No flashing lights, no electronics, JUST GOOD OLD FASHION FUN!

I absolutely love this wooden fruit set. What a realistic toy! My 5 and 7 year old {girl and boy} couldn't stop playing with it. They feel like they are cutting real food. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Thankyou Pottery Barn.

Great Kitchen Addition

I purchased this and the Wooden Veggie Set for my 2 1/2 year old Granddaughter for Christmas. She loved it! Spends hours putting the items together and cutting them apart. Wonderful for so many concepts as well as just fun. Whole to part, fractions, matching, sorting, fine motor and the list goes on. Safe and durable. Can't go wrong with this item!

Very, very cute fruit! My daughter loves playing with it and it was easy for her to figure out how to cut everything and stick it back together. Well made and looks great!
