Another disappointed customer
November 6, 2012
I'm having the same problem as everyone else. The appeal of this lunch bag was that it would clip on to the outside of the backpack, freeing up the inside of the backpack for school stuff - especially important for a kindergartener with a smaller backpack. Unfortunately the straps on the back used to attach the lunch bag to the backpack frayed after just a few weeks and are now unusable. Pretty disappointed in the quality of this particular PBK item.

Tough like kids
October 19, 2012
I ordered this Darth Vader lunchbox to replace another one just like it that my grandson had finally worn out after several years of hard use. The PB lunchboxes are well made, and worth the money! They are the only ones my daughter-in-law wants for her kids!

Disappointed
October 12, 2012
I normally love the Pottery Barn kids lunchbags but this one was disappointing. The handle completely frayed after just a few weeks of my son using it.

Handle frayed with one weeks use!
September 14, 2012
As other reviewers mentioned our handle frayed too. My sister got this for my son as a gift. He's been in school since Sept 5th and exactly 1 week after use it started to fray! He doesn't even use the handle to carry it to and from school as I put the lunch box in his bag. What a waste not only of money but of environmental resources. I'm going to have to purchase another bag and take up some room in a landfill with this one. What a disappointment. I usually purchase from PBK knowing their stuff is of good quality and will last which is important to me.

Handle Freyed on Day 3...NO GOOD
September 6, 2012
Same as other reviewers, fraying to the point of not connecting to the backpack. That was the point of having this set was that the lunchbox can click to the backpack and you don't have to use up internal space. Now that the handles have frayed this badly then now we have to shove the lunch box inside the pack. NOTE: We have had several of these sets (easily 6-7 sets) in different patterns and this has NEVER happened before. Flaw in this print only.

Poor Quality
August 23, 2012
I agreed with the other two reviewers - the handle frayed within the second week of use and completely fell apart within the first month. I purchased the lunch bag and paid extra for the monogram. It looked good for two weeks. What a waste of money. Don't buy it.

Bought this for my kindergartner and the handle completely frayed and only lasted less then a year. Was hoping to use it for a few years. Went with another company this year.

Poorly made handle
August 8, 2012
I purchased the Darth Vader backpack and lunchbox for my son when he started kindergarten. Sadly the lunchbox did not hold up long at all. The handle frayed so badly that it wasn't just cosmetic, it was actually falling apart within the first month of use. PBK replaced it and the second one fell apart the same way within 2 days. I sent it back and the third one held up almost 'till the end of school before it frayed apart again. I'm very disappointed in the poor quality of the lunchbox handle, and don't quite understand why they don't take measures to fix the problem. It's a shame because the inside and zippered areas of the lunchbox are very nicely made.
