Best Boxes
February 10, 2011
This is a FABULOUS invention. We had used individual containers to send schools lunches in...one for fruit, one for sandwich roll up, one for chips...etc. This Bento Box is the best of both worlds. Multiple compartments, with one lid. Perfect for my two little ones. Easy for the teacher to open, and even easier clean up with top shelf dishwasher cleaning. Fits Perfectly inside the Preschool Lunch box. Everyone should have one!!!

inner component doesnt close well
April 3, 2013
I am a frequent Pottery Barn customer and normally am very happy with the firm's products. I like this box, but find the inner compartment does not open and close easily. The lid often goes down too far and I have to pry it back open for a knife or pen. Not ideal if a kid is trying to feed him/herself at school, or given the price.

great idea but...
March 18, 2013
Overall I'm happy I purchased these (got 2 to go with lunch bag). I love that they eliminate the need for baggies in a single compact unit. It would have been nice though if the designers had taken some basic things into consideration. There is no space large enough for a regular sized sandwich. There is no place to fit a drink not only inside the bento box, but the way it takes up all the space in the lunch bag leaves little room. The lid is attached, so fitting it into the dishwasher is difficult. A little tweaking and this would be a 5 star product.

Awesome Lunch Box
March 1, 2013
These bento boxes are the best. They fit perfectly inside the Mackenzie lunch bag. However you won't have room for anything else except a cool pack. I didn't think I would love these as much as I do but they make morning so much easier. Using them makes it so easy to create a well balanced healty lunch. My girls love them and I don't have to worry about them spreading tons of little containers across the lunch room table where there could be germs. I loved these so much I ordered a second set for my daughters.

Great Idea...but...
February 26, 2013
I bought this for my daughter as she was starting kindergarten. Completely love the idea. But for some reason, this doesn't close properly. i'm at the point where it isn't closing at all (locking). I'm going to order another to see if mine was a product defect because my daughter loves it, as do I!

We LOVE these Bento Boxes!
February 20, 2013
Each of my children have one of these Bento boxes. They fit perfectly inside the PB lunch boxes. This is our second school year using them and we are still in love with them! My children use them every single day. They allow us to pack wonderful, healthy foods without all the waste of plastic and paper bags. They take salads (with dressing in the tiny Spencer container that fits neatly inside the Bento box), almonds, fruits, vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, rolled up meat and cheese, leftover shredded beef, sweet potato chips...the list goes on and on. They are easy to use and even the kids have fun packing them! They truly are perfect for our family!
My children drink water, so taking the Klean Kanteens works well for them. No need for a drink inside the lunch box.
I am SO happy with this product and would highly recommend it!!

Spencer Bento Box
December 26, 2012
I love the idea behind this box, but the little lid inside of the container does not close properly, therefore my son pushes it all of the way in and I have to dig it out. I think it is only a matter of time before it breaks. It is very convenient, easy to clean and fits the lunchboxes nicely.

Bento Boxes
December 22, 2012
Pros: Fits perfectly in an insulated lunch box, keeps food nicely separated, and large enough portions for a "big kid".
Cons: Hard to clean each compartment (since it is plastic - oil sticks onto it) and the one covered compartment is easily stuck (due to being over-pushed/latched-in)
Overall: It's just what I was looking for!

Simplifies lunchmaking
December 18, 2012
We are happy with our bento boxes so far. They fit perfectly in the kids' lunchboxes, and they simplify all of the bags and containers that we usually use in their daily lunches. They're great!

Perfecto
October 26, 2012
We just picked one up at the outlet( pink). it is perfect to save time in the morning since all goes in one simple container instead of a separate baggies or separate containers. when she wants a cold lunch I just add everything and a small ice pack. larger compartment is just right for a sandwich or flat pita bread etc. . this is just awesome for all dry foods and fruits, crackers etc. we still use the thermos for warm since lunches but can pack much faster in the morning with this container. fits perfect in the mckensie lunch bag.

Going Green
October 16, 2012
This container is excellent for eliminating the need for plastic lunch bags to separate out food. The large space accommodates two half sandwiches. I would've like to have had another large space. Overall, it's a great product.

Packing a Lunch made easy!
October 9, 2012
I originally bought one for my son entering Kindergarten worried that he would struggle with separate containers for sandwich, fruit, veggie, treat...
This turned out to be so simple that my 4th grade daughter wanted one too! After working the lunch program at school, I was very glad since alot of the kiddos (w/o a bento) ended up spreading their food all over the table.... which is NOT as clean as mine at home! My recommendations: small juice boxes fit perfectly, a thin ice pack underneath and a small fun one in the largest 'spot' inside keep everything cold. I do put their roll-up sandwich in a snack baggie to keep any moisture from ruining it, but that is the only thing! Another bonus... a simple quick hand wash each night and my dishwasher is NOT bogged down with 10 different containers!

Nice idea!
October 8, 2012
I love this little container, however, I wish the sandwich area were just a tad larger. That is all. Besides that, it is a wonderful idea and it saves me money on buying baggies to store the kid's food in.

Poor design
October 3, 2012
The top doesn't pop off so it takes up a quarter of the dishwasher to wash this thing. It also just barely fits in the lunch boxes. It leaks badly. Not great.
