Confused on Age

I chose this puzzle for my 3-year-old son because he already loves the planets and the solar system, not to mention puzzles.
This site said 3+ so I found it perfect! But, tonight when I opened the box it said 5+, so I'm very confused and found the info misleading. We haven't worked it yet, so not sure which age it's best for...will update my review once I find out. Seems like a nice puzzle otherwise.
