DO NOT BUY
March 15, 2013
I am so DISAPPOINTED with this blanket. I have 3 of them, 2 are blue and 1 is green. 2 of them have fallen apart, the silk trim has unraveled and is ripped apart. I first bought this as a back up blankie for my now 3 yr old, we first got a blue blanket with polka dot trim that pottery barn kids no longer carries from 2008. That is the best blankie!!! This was our backup in case anything happened to the polka dot blankie and we have had to buy 2 already bc of the satin trim that keeps falling apart, and all 3 are NEWER than the original satin polka dot trim blanket. We also got a green one for our second son and it has fallen apart again and we barely used it for fear that the trim would fall apart. We wash in gentle and try not to wash it too often, as well as not allowing them to use it unless they are in bed sleeping. I usually love pottery barn products, but this I am sooooooo frustrated with. How can all of our blankets have the same issue!

Wears badly!
February 27, 2013
I don't usually write reviews, but I was really disappointed with this product and want to dissuade people from making the same mistake as I did. I purchased this blanket for my oldest son to have as his nice "special" blanket for the long haul. Given the price and the reputation of Pottery Barn, I assumed that this would last for a long time while the other gifts and more decorative blankets would wear out. The opposite happened. My son is less than 2 years old and we only use this blanket during cold weather (so about half the year) and the silk trim is pretty much shredded. All of his other cheaper blankets are still in great shape, so I know it's not the washer/care/treatment, etc. I will not be purchasing a keepsake blanket like this one for my second child on the way.

Fabulous Baby Gift for Newborn
February 8, 2013
I bought this blanket in blue for a co-workers first born and had the name and date of birth inscribed on it. What a thrill it was to see how pleased he was when he opened the blanket. Very special gift that will be a keepsake forever.

Not the same blanket
February 5, 2013
I received this same blanket in 2010 for my first child and I bought one for my 2nd in 2013 and the quality in the 2013 version has declined from what it was in 2010. I LOVE the 2010 version, the 2013 is cheap feeling and thinner. Very disappointed, especially in that these are not inexpensive. I ordered 5 in 2012 as gifts that were sent direct to the recipient, I just hope those were of the same quality as the 2010, otherwise I'd be embarassed and disppointed.
I will not be ordering these as gifts in the future due to the decline in quality.

skip the lettering
January 30, 2013
the blanket itself is very soft and seems fairly well made. the problem i have is with the lettering i had done. it is not very well done and rather cheap looking. i expected better for the price of the lettering. overall, i could not recomment anyone ordering this blanket to get lettering on it.

printing came wrong, late for Christmas now
December 24, 2012
this is our 4th blanket. my daughter loves them and gets one each Christmas, from her Auntie, or Santa or this year God. unfortunately this year, the printing was done wrong. showed on site that all letters would be capital and instead 1st letter of each word was, so XO, came as "Xo". called and a replacement will be sent but by Dec 31st which doesn't help for Christmas. disappointed. also, if the blanket was a better quality we would not purchase a new one each year, but after it being washed 1 to 2 times a month (not a lot for a favorite blankie), it is a shredded mess on the edges by the end of the year. but it is her favorite so we'll keep buying. now to find an explanation for why it didn't come for Christmas : (

Used to be my go-to new baby gift
October 26, 2012
I have purchased multiple of these blankets as new baby gifts in the past. It was my go-to gift. No more. For one, previously you could do the blue blanket with blue embroidery. No longer. For the blue blanket the only choices are white (too light) or cream or Khaki. I loved the light blue on blue. When I called PB they said the blue was too light. Ok, then why not Navy? Maybe it is me, but I love the monochromatic look. Second, this item was free shipping for the longest time. Now shipping is $11!!! Are you kidding?? I used to be able to purchase this for under $50, now it is over $60. PB, get with the program as far as shipping goes! Your stuff is cute, but $11 to ship a blanket that weighs less than three pounds. That is taking advantage of your customers. This blanket is not worth it anymore given the shipping and thread choices. Guess I need to find a new go-to gift.

Used to be a favorite
August 19, 2012
I loved this blanket when I bought it for my daughter. Now that she's had it for a year and only really used it in the past month, it's falling apart! The silk trim is literally shredding at the edges and I've sewn it up time and time again and am just sick of it. Extremely disappointed for the little bit of use this blanket has had for it to be worn so much.

Silk Trim Fraying
August 17, 2012
This is my 12 month old's favorite blanket. This blanket is only 5 months old and the silk trim is fraying and shredding. I would buy another one, but after reading the reviews I can't buy another just to have it fall apart too. Pottery Barn, PLEASE fix this problem so I can get a new version of this blanket and swap it with her frying blanket before she is old enough to know the difference. PLEASE!!! The blanket is super soft and cuddly otherwise.

Beautiful soft blankie-but staunching falls out
August 1, 2012
I bought this blankie as a baby gift for a friend, it is super soft and cuddly with a wonderful light pink color and it is monogrammed very nicely as well. Yet even after only 5 days (the child is only five days old too so she did not use it other than on top of her in the carseat) the stitching that holds the satin trim to the blanket is already pulling out. And since it has a name stitched onto the blanket it can not be returned. I had read about this or a similar problem with these blankets but took the risk thinking it wouldn't occur for a few months or until the child could hold it atleast. Never the less it is a very nice little blankie, but the issue with the trim defiantly seems universal.

Silk trim destroyed

The silk trim rips and causes a stringy mess after a few washes. We had to remove the trim. Not worth the money!

Silk Trim is Destroyed
July 12, 2012
This product was previously named My Best Blankie, now it's simply Silk Trim Blanket. I own 5 of them. The silk trim on every single one has SHREDDED APART. I wash on cold, gentle cycle and hang to dry. Wish I could post a picture. I challenge ANYONE that has owned this blanket for longer than 5 months to prove the silk has stayed intact. My child loves her blankie, so I am stuck with them. Great gift, but it won't last long.

Favorite Blankie
July 11, 2012
My 20 month-old has had this blanket since he was 4 months old. We like it so much, we bought 4 total. He loves to chew on the silk linings as a comfort measure. With that said, the silk lining still seems to hold up pretty well. But he does have 4 blankets to rotate from. It is still super soft after all these months of washing and abusing. We highly recommend it and will buy it again for future kids.

Our son LOVED this blanket
July 11, 2012
Our little boy has had this blanket since day 1 (he turned 3 last month). He really took to it at a year and would rub the satin edging every time he went to sleep. Unfortunately we left it at school on Sunday and the janitor threw it out (ohhh so wishing it was put in the lost and found). Yes, I totally checked the dumpster! He was sad, but we told him that sometimes we get special things for just a short time and that there were more special things in store. We told he he could go with us to pick out the next special blanket (he wants blue, the last one was yellow) so we will be at PBK tomorrow! Oh, and ours washed great - never frayed!

Horrible quality
July 1, 2012
The baby blanket is 2 months or so and the baby is 3 months old. I have never been so disappointed with a pottery barn product. A newborn baby doesn't use a blanket in a rough way. Despite following the care instructiosns this very expensive blanket has fallen apart at the seams the silk trim is literally in tatters. Very sad, wont buy as a gift or recommend it to anybody again.

Poor trim quality
April 13, 2012
We received this blanket as a gift. We loved it, however after several washings the silk trim began to rip all over the blanket. The only way to fix it was to remove all the trim. Hopefully the blanket it self will hold up.

Soft and pretty, but poor quality
March 18, 2012
Received this as a gift and initially loved the softness. After a few washings, the embroidered name started unraveling and the stitching on the silk trim came loose. It's nice, but not if you actually plan to use and wash it.
