Polka Dot Shade & Birdhouse Base
There's a secret inside this wooden birdhouse - a nightlight that can be turned on at bedtime for reassuring warmth. A polka-dot shade adds cheerful color to the base's floral cut-out details and a soft, washed white finish. Crafted of solid wood. On/off switch. Features a clear cord; polarized plug. Shade (sold separately) is made of cotton percale with a polyester lining. All our shades are designed with an UNO fitter for securing shade to base. UL-listed. I was really excited to have found such a unique lamp and wanted it for my nursery. I love the pink shade that I paired it with and I have no complaints about the lamp base except I thought the quality of the paint job was very disappointing. I understand it is supposed to have a distressed look to the base but mine looked as if PBK didn't put enough paint on it. It has the Popsicle stick look to it and it so noticeable that I think I may have to paint it just a little more myself to not see the wood so much. It was a little disappoint for the price I paid but the functionality of the lamp is not at all compromised. I decided to keep it. I still think it is very unique.

This was the final piece to add to my daughters bedroom to make it perfect! It's a gorgeous lamp and the base is so unique. The only thing I will add is that it has a nightlight and then the lamp, when you turn it off from nightlight(dim bulb) it slicks straight to bright light next before click to off...this doesn't help when daughter is asleep as bright light wakes her, taken to covering her eyes when I do it but think it should go from dim light to off. Wouldn't change it for this as it really is so pretty.

I purchased this lamp for my new granddaughter's room.We wanted a lamp that would grow with her and this is the one! It is a darling lamp and we loved the nightlight inside the base. It coordinates well with the Camille nursery bedding. It will be well used for years! Thank you Pottery Barn for all your wonderful products and great customer service!!

Cutest lamp I've ever seen

This lamp and shade are adorable! Exactly as described and even cuter in person. One reviewer described it as too small, but I have to disagree. The dimensions are noted in the description and with the shade attached the entire piece is about 21 inches tall. It's the perfect size for any nightstand. Anything larger would be overwhelming. We ordered the light pink shade and it matches really well with the Hayley bedding. The base is a distressed off-white and adds a cute cottage look that is perfect for a little girl's room. If you don't like the distressed look all it would take is a can of spray paint and presto, problem solved. The little nightlight inside the base already has a bulb supplied, and the on/off switch allows 4 different lighting options: both the main light and nightlight on, main light only, nightlight only, or both lights off. If I could give this 6 stars I would...I sat and stared at it for about 20 minutes when I first plugged it in because it is just THAT cute!

Precious lamp!

This unique lamp is really cute. The antiqued white coordinates well with all the colors in my baby girl's nursery. I have it on a nightstand in front of the Cherry Blossom Tree decal and it looks like a real birdhouse. The nightlight inside is a nice touch though not very bright. Definitely worth spending a bit more for it.

Love the nightlight

We are still waiting on the lamp shade (it is on back order), but have received the base. It is really cute, and I love that it has a built in nightlight. The reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because it is pretty small in size and I think the price is high for such a small lamp. Quality is good though.
