I bought this for my 6 year old grandson who is curious about the world. The pocket scope was a great success in its telescope mode but did not work at all as a microscope and we all tried several times hoping to succeed but could see nothing through it.

great toy, but...

My son got this for Christmas and among all the cool stuff he got, this was the fast favorite. He loves to carry it around in his pocket to have whenever he wants to use it. The problem however, is that it quickly came apart. The end is threaded, not glued and a child will get it apart. When the many lens and pieces come out of the inside, good luck figuring out how to get it back together so that it will work. I even went to the manufacturer's website to figure it out--they have no assembly instructions because "it's not supposed to come apart"--then why is the end threaded and not glued? PBK is sending a new one--yay--and we'll make sure the next one stays in one piece. My son will be thrilled to have his scope back.

Great gift for all kids.

I bought 3 of these for Christmas gifts all the kids really liked them. Nice and compact to fit in your pocket or backpack. You can see pretty and pretty clearly through them.
