Too small for big kids
May 2, 2013
This backpack is really cool looking and compact, but it is not large enough to carry all the things a big kid (age 8, in our case) has to carry to school.
My daughter has to carry snack boxes and sometimes an extra pair of clothes. This plus her books (which are thin and small paperbacks or files) is too tight.

Great big-boy backpack
October 8, 2012
My eight-year-old son needed a back pack that was a little more "grown up". We love this one because it has so many pockets and zippers and every back pack we have bought from PB has been very durable! Love it!

Way Too Small!
September 11, 2012
I ordered this backpack and the matching lunchbox on July 4th. When I received them the monogramming was messed up. I finally received the replacement backpack the first week of September. I loved how it looked, but it is WAY too small. My son has a hard time fitting in a folder and a library book in the front pocket and the back pocket isn't wide enough in the mouth to put any binders/folders/books in it. I am still waiting on a lunchbox that is correct. PBK is letting me use the 3rd replacement lunchbox (yes, I'm on my 3rd one) until I get the next one. The lunchbox is too small as well. I am surprised because all of the other backpacks/lunchboxes from PBK have been great.

Disappointing Quality
August 6, 2012
We purchased the Colton backpack with the hammerhead decal. My son wore it the first day of school and when he came home I discovered that the hammerhead decal had already pulled halfway off. The only thing he did was take it to school and bring home a single folder (he is in the first grade). The backpack itself seems to be of decent quality but the decal is a waste of money and since that was the only thing my son was excited about and why we purchased the backpack in the first place both he and I are extremely disappointed.

Disappointed with size
July 18, 2012
We just got my son's new backpack in the mail. I am pleased with the appearance of this backpack. However, I wanted to share that the "laptop" compartment of this bag won't fit a 1 inch binder. The Mp3 pocket BARELY closes with an iPod. And what will have to serve as the main pocket barely closes with his PB lunchbox and 1" binder in it. He loves the bright color and the many pockets are a good idea. I compared sizes listed against his current PBK backpack before ordering and though it was listed a smidgen smaller, the difference is significant. If you need a bag that will hold much more than a binder and lunch, this may not be the best choice.

Not very roomy
July 17, 2012
This backpack is adorable...love the look of it. It has lots of small pockets for storage. Unfortunately, it has a very small mouth so it is hard just to get a folder in it, led alone a binder. I bought mine for my 1st grader and worried he's going to have a hard time getting things into it. It also is very "skinny"...not alot of depth to it...the one online looks MUCH bigger...must have been stuffed for the pics. It will work for 1st grade but would never work for an older child.
