Great for nursing!
April 7, 2012
My chair arrived yesterday and it is perfect for nursing my two week old daughter!
The chair didn't come with the rockers, it arrived with the legs. Waiting to hear back from Pottery Barn Customer Service when the rocking legs can be shipped.

Great Nursery Rocking Chair
March 25, 2012
This chair looks great in our nursery! Very tailored looking and extremely comfortable, which is exactly what I was looking for. It fits nicely in the corner of our 10x11 room. We ordered the Everyday Velvet Buckwheat -would highly recommend this fabric and color! I find it to be very soft, not at all stiff, and the color is neutral enough to go with any decor. I am able to rock smoothly with my feet on the floor with proper back support and I am only 5'3"! My husband is 6' and finds the chair to be comfortable enough (which says a lot!). It does not slide around on the carpet as I have read in previous reviews. The Boppy pillow fits around me well, but should note that I have a small to medium build. I find the arm rests to be comfortable too. From the time I ordered the chair to the time it was delivered was approx. 2 mos., so order at least 8-10 weeks out! I highly recommend this chair for the price!

Cute, but not functional
February 28, 2012
I loved the way this chair looked and had my eye on it early into decorating our first born's nursery. When it arrived in July, i loved the way it looked in the room. There is no doubt that the chair is nice looking. It's not very comfortable either. I had hoped that if we broke it in a bit, it would soften up. Unfortunately, when the baby arrived in November, the chair just isn't working for us. It is difficult to breastfeed in, and it scoots all over the carpet, and frequently winds up pushing against our wall or the side table. Perhaps the chair would be better suited on hard wood floors. It just doesn't work out well on our carpet. I am now looking for a new glider for the room.

Fluffy but not funtional
January 9, 2012
To start, I would say that this chair has pros and cons. I initially chose this particular model because we have a small nursery and it fit the space. I also like that we could change the rockers out for stationary legs. Another pro is that the chair forces me to keep good posture when nursing. THe quality is nice and I really like the material (I bought the twill in beige-to be neutral). On the negative, unfortunately, I'll stArt with the arms: as I nurse my elbows rest on the arms and I can feel the edge of the wood frame, very uncomfortable. Also because of the size of the chair, the Boppy doesn't fit on me when I sit in the chair, so I can't use it if I want to breastfeed in the nursery. these were pretty big issues since the first 3 months I pretty much lived in the chair. And this chair inparticular does not rock well on carpet, but I specifically wanted a rocker not a glider, so I am dealing with that. For these reasons I gave this chair only 3 stars. Comfort is key.

Love the chair and the price!
December 6, 2011
I had been going back and forth between the fabrics on the Swivel Glider, then decided to check out the fabric swatches in person at the PB Kids store. When I got there I noticed they had this new Charleston rocker chair set up and I instantly changed my mind! I find the back support to be much better and while the slip cover option is appealing for the Swivel Gliders, this upholstered chair looks so much more tailored. I read a review on here that the rocker isn't great and I didn't find that to be true. Unless you're rocking so hard to the point of trying to propel yourself out of the chair, the rocking is perfect. I also love how this chair comes with the stationary feet. It can adapt to pretty much any room in your home once it serves its purpose in the nursery!

Long Delivery Time
August 8, 2011
This chair is lovely. The fabric is soft. I was looking for a sturdy and firm chair that I could have no problem getting out of with my child. It is a custom order and according to PBK delivery times can take 6-8 weeks. Our order took 10.5 weeks from order and delivery. We ordered the matching ottoman and convertible legs. Which were all delivered separately from the chair. Overall a great product, but order very early.

Great chair
July 17, 2011
After trying a dozen plus gliders, all of which I struggled to get out of, we tried this rocker which I love can covert to a regular chair.
Granted I'm of small frame, I feel the chair is well sized to me with great support. My husband however who is 6', says it's a bit small for him.
No problems with the rocking feel of the chair, mine is nice and smooth. I do agree that it will need to be scotch guarded.

Very comfy, not the greatest rocker
July 10, 2011
This rocker looks great and is very comfortable to sit in. That said, the actual rocking isn't very good. The rocking stops are awkwardly positioned so you kind of come to a halting stop rocking forward and back. But part of the appeal (and justification in price) is that this chair will will have the feet installed and will eventually make its home in another room in our house. I only anticipate that this chair will be used as a rocker for 1 -2 years and maybe again in another future child's room. Overall, I'd recommend it to friends, it's comfortable and good looking. Definitely needs to be scotch-guarded though.

Beautiful in Design, Not Comfort
July 1, 2011
I loved the look of this chair and waited months for it but its has not a lot of back support. I have to use a pillow to make it comfortable! I still think it looks great but wish its had more support!

Not a favorite
June 4, 2011
If you are looking for a nice comfortable rocker to sink in, this is not it. Although the construction is nice and it seems durable, the comfort wasn't there. It feel very stiffed and not inviting to rock yourself or a baby.

Excellent Comfy Chair
May 10, 2011
Great chair for a nursery. The fabric is soft to touch but also has been quite durable. Like the movement of the chair. Ordered another chair for another room and intend to use the feet to convert to regular armchairs once child no longer needs comfy chair.

Issue with Runner Knobs
January 31, 2011
The size and design of this rocker are great as is the upholstery. However, the knobs on the runners hit the floor and jolt you when you put your feet down. This would be a great rocker without the poorly designed runners.
