Cute backpack!
February 6, 2013
This is a really cute backpack and I love that it has her name on it. I went with the large so she can get the full use out of it. Only thing I wish it had was an inside pocket then would of had 5 stars. My daughter loves it too!

No inside pocket

I have been buying these for a few years..this year there was no inside pocket in main compartment. It helped keep things organized. Some of my friends noticed also. I hope PBK puts it back in next year.

Wonderful quality, cute pattern, personalized

I got the pre-school sized backpack for my 2 year old. Its such a cute pattern and the quality is amazing and I loved that I could personalize it with our daughter's name. My husband was confused on why it needs the buckles in the front, but I assume thats only for appearance.

To help buyers out
September 13, 2012
What I used the preschool size for was to replace a diaper bag. I love it can hold two bottles, diapers, wipes, and one change of clothes for daycare. The small is great size for my now 4yr old but he has to have a two inch binder and although it will zip it was so tight that I was afraid after a year it might do some damage. So he packs his large pack with the lunch box attached and it is a little big looking on him but he hasn't seemed to mind. He is a tall 4yr old but if you want something to last awhile you might want to buy the large. We have had the large for about three years and it still looks like new. It has been great for trips for me or my husband wears it. Now I am looking to buy one for my little baby girl. I would recommend to buy the same print in the duffle so everything matches since I waited and couldn't get the same print.
I would always recommend looking at the measurements before you buy something you can't return!

Preschool Backpack
August 17, 2012
I ordered the Mackenzie Navy Owl Preschool Backpack for my 4 year old daughter who is starting preschool next month. When it arrived, I was highly disappointed in the size. The pack didn't even reach her bottom and was the most ridiculously sized "preschool" backpack that I have ever seen. This should NOT be labeled a "preschool" backpack as it does not even fit a piece of paper, notebook or construction, and would definitely NOT suffice for a year of preschool. Since I trusted Pottery Barn's labeling of a product, I am now having to re-order the larger size. I am now out $35+ because I also got the pack personalized. If the pattern wasn't so adorable, there is no way I would order another pack. I truly hope that somewhere in the description something gets added that says something along the lines of "Do not order this if your child is the normal size of a preschooler, or plans to carry anything in their pack."
