I LOVE this crib!
January 25, 2012
I am 5'2" and knew that a priority in selecting a crib would be that it was low profile. This crib is absolutely beautiful, functional, and I would buy it again in a minute!
I did not realize when I purchased it that not only would it be shipped, but it would be brought into our home, put together in the nursery, placed where we wanted it, and the boxes taken away. The service was impeccable.
We purchased with the Kendall changing table/dresser and bookshelf (all in Chestnut) and are very pleased. We bought for a baby boy's nursery, but would equally love it for a simple girl's nursery.

Nice clean look but wood and paint nick easily
June 12, 2013
I hunted high and low for what I thought would be the easiest thing to find: a basic, white crib with clean lines and solid wood construction. I was close to purchasing a very comparable Room & Board crib but the on sale price of this one ($399) made it too hard to pass up, especially since I know it's not an item we'll have forever. I love the look of it in the nursery and also purchased the matching Kendall extra wide dresser with topper. I will however say that I'm a bit concerned about the ease with which the crib wood and paint seem to get chipped. Between my husband's assembly and my dropping in the mattress, I already see a few dings (and missing paint) on the interior wood posts at the corners. Other reviews seem to confirm that the wood is rather soft and paint chipping is not an uncommon occurrence. I'm living with it for now but if the problem worsens, I may well call PBK for a replacement.

Beautiful crib!
March 14, 2013
The crib is really beautiful. We have not used it yet, but we can tell it is of a high quality because our oldest son insisted he wanted to used it for a couple of nights. The low-profile crib is perfect for my height (I am 5'3'').

Happy
March 9, 2013
This crib is made of solid wood with a metal frame base for the mattress. I like that it doesn't have any cheap press board parts, just a solid, nice crib. Very easy to put together (my husband had it ready in ten minutes!). Fits a standard crib mattress. Looks great in white. Only complaint - a faint bit of varnish (?) smell from the finish. I wish PBK offered this crib in a water based finish, however I would rate myself extremely picky and we're happy with our purchase. Also got the conversation kit. Definitely recommend.

Couldnt Have picked a better one
November 7, 2012
I was looking for the perfect crib, something simple, classy, durable and safe. I looked around for so long that by the time I got this crib my daughter was 8 months old. I put it together myself probably in about 2 hours. It has a great/lovely white finish and I love that it has the plastic covering the rails to protect it from her little sharp teeth! - I also bought the conversion kit, but I have to wait a little longer to use that! I am beyond happy with my purchase.

we're ordering a second one for second child.
October 19, 2012
Our daughter is 13 months old, and this crib has held up beautifully. We're due with our second child in 5 months, so won't be able to pass down crib. We love it so much that we're planning on purchasing this same crib in another color for #2. Highly recommend this crib!

Great crib so far
September 29, 2012
We have used this crib for 2+ weeks and are very happy so far. The crib looks good and is well-made.
We ordered the crib in espresso - with a matching nightstand and dresser. Delivery time: 2 weeks. Since it was delivered with the dresser (in-home delivery) the men who delivered assembled the crib for us. They had experience, and it took less than 10 mins.
Unfortunately, the other pieces delivered with the crib didn't match in color (all Kendall and all espresso). This was eventually rectified by PBK – see reviews of those pieces.
We're not short (5'7" & 6'3"), but liked the low-profile better for a small nursery, and our child will be closer to the ground when we convert to a toddler bed. Its not too low for us, though we have only had the mattress on the highest setting so far.
Under-crib storage: There is exactly 6" of clearance, so storage must be <6" tall. Medium Sabrina baskets work.
Scratches: No scratches yet, but we use the touch-up pen on all our espresso PB furniture.

I love it!
September 18, 2012
It's perfect! This is a beautiful crib. The low profile is great for shorter or Petite Mom's like myself. I knew I couldn't (or didn't want to) assemble it on my own, so I hired a handyman to do it. He assembled it in 30 minutes. The espresso color is beautiful. It's really well made and the price point is unbeatable. So glad I purchased the conversion kit too. This crib/toddler bed is worth every penny!

Great Crib, white is still not pure white
September 4, 2012
The Kendall Low-Profile crib arrived very quickly via UPS (not my favorite carrier as they just drop off the package at my door without even ringing the bell).
My husband and I assembled it in less than half an hour. It is sturdy and, given my petite size (5'1"), I appreciate the low-profile it has while still maintaining a classic-traditional look. The simply White color is still not "pure" white, but that is understandable given the vast range of what we consider "white". Although there is a difference in color between it and the vintage dresser we rehabbed for the nursery which we painted in a more "pure" white color, it does not bother me enough to return it. Next time I'll match my painted pieces to the color of the furniture I purchase.
We look forward to having our baby girl sleep in it.

color does not match other kendall furniture!
August 4, 2012
This crib is pretty and sturdy. However, the "white" finish does not match the "white" finish of the kendall nightstand and dresser! I am pretty disappointed and know others that have had similar issues with colors not matching (even though PBK says that they coordinate). Very frustrating.

Solid, looks great and easy to put together. We also puchased several other pieces of furniture, not in the Kendal group, but in the same color family and they all look great together.

Excellent for petite moms
June 21, 2012
So far, I'm very pleased with the low-profile version of this crib. Those extra few inches make all the difference in the world to me in reaching over and picking up my baby. There is still space under the crib for storage, either with cute wicker baskets, or even an underbed bin if you use a dust ruffle to hide it. Still the same good quality and look of the regular Kendall crib.

Best Crib Ever!
May 3, 2012
This crib is not only great for shorter parents but also for those who have slanted ceilings in the nursery! The crib is beautiful and classic looking and is more than appropriate for both a baby boy or girl - making it perfect for multiples!

Excellent, even the second time around
January 10, 2012
I bought the older version back in 2008, in Espresso, for my son (now 3). I bought this new one on sale, and it was WELL worth it, especially because I recall paying about $300 more back in 2008! This is an excellent crib. I love the slats on all sides, so the baby can see out (and I can see the baby) from all sides. Note, they removed the PBK monogramming on the teething rail, which I like, and have updated the frame below the mattress to a wire frame, which is lighter and a bit easier to maneuver when adjusting the bed. I like how short this one is. It opens the room more and is easy to reach in and out (I am 5'3"). I do miss the wheels, which made it easy for moving, cleaning, etc. This is entirely worth the money if you want something high quality that will last through the years. The one I bought in 2008 would work fine, and it is still is in great condition, even after three moves. The low profile is still high enough off the ground to clean under and to put under-crib storage!

great crib look and function
October 13, 2011
I am 5'2 and was excited to see a low profile crib that is more at waist level for bending over to lay the baby down when the matress is at its lowest point. After much research and trying out cribs I determined that the Kendall was the perfect choice interms of structure, stabilty, he ight, and longevity to be used with future children. The store placed the order instead of online to save on shipping and I used 10% off my registry. Also white chocolate Benjamin Moore paint helps match other non PB furniture to the crib color.

sturdy, easy to assemble, great for 5' tall mom
September 8, 2011
The color is not white. It's a little off white. Other than that it's well made and very sturdy and very easy to assemble. I'm 5' tall and was able to reach down to the top of the mattress when the bed was lowered to its lowest setting. So it really works great for petite mom like myself.

Great Crib for Shorter Parents
February 23, 2011
I debated for a while between this crib and the taller Kendall crib, but I'm happy I went with this one. I am 5'3" and it was difficult for me to lean over the top of the taller model we saw in-store. I was nervous to purchase this shorter version without actually seeing it, but I am pleasantly surprised. I was worried it would look freakishly short next to the other regularly-sized furniture, but it blends right in. Top quality crafstmanship.
