Depot Shade & Depot Base
Inspired by a vintage train station light, this lamp does double duty as a task lamp and nightlight. Cast of metal with brass joints with a bronze-plated finish. Three-way switch. Turn once to illuminate the top for reading, twice to use the glass base for a night light, and three times to turn both on. UL-listed. Shade (sold separately) is polyester with vellum lining. All our lamp shades are designed with an UNO fitter for securing shade to base.

Fun, fun, fun!

I just purchased this lamp and I love it in my son's room. It's both fun and functional (i.e. Nightlight too! So cool!) Suggestion to those who made negative reviews concerning PBkids misleading costumers regarding the color-always read the description...They do give an accurate description: "Cast of metal with brass joints with a bronze-plated finish"...don't purchase things based on internet pictures; they can be misleading.

This will be the last time I purchase a lamp from Pottery Barn and PB Kids. Their lamps are made very cheaply. I had to buy a plain white shade for the depot base at a very nice lamp store in our area and they said the workmanship was poor and thought the lamp sold for $20. She was shocked when I told her it was $80! When mass producing products please have your prices reflect that.

I was looking for a lamp with a nightlight in it. I did an extensive search and this was head and shoulders above anything else I found out there. It is a beautiful lamp and the light in the base is great for kids who are afraid to fall asleep in a dark room.

love it, but different then pictured

Other reviewers were accurate about the color being more of a dark bronze then pictured. I read them previously so I wasnt surprised when it came darker and it actually matched better for me but if you want a "silver or nickel" toned base look elsewhere. The night-light could be a little too bright, but is a great option for maneuvering around the nursery at 3am without bright lights on. Also, since the matching shade is sold out or if you want a different color, like me, save yourself the stress and buy a PB shade they are the only ones that fit perfectly since the lamp is a uno-fitter.

Great lamp!

This lamp is very well made and a great decorative piece for my son's "transportation" theme room. Like other reviewers, I will say that it is a darker metal than the picture shows and that the nightlight is too bright. The Depot shade was not available when I ordered the lamp so I figured I would get a lamp shade on my own. I would suggest getting a lamp shade from Pottery Barn when you order your lamp. They seem to have their own connector between lamp and shade and you can't seem to find lamp shades that attach to the lightbulb anymore. I ended up going back and ordering the Parker shade (more of a square look) from the website and it looks just as good.

Our son loves this lamp for his new big boy room. I knew from reading the reviews that the photo was inaccurate, and they were right - the base is more like an oil rubbed bronze look than brushed nickle as the photo makes it look. That's just what I wanted to match pulls on the espresso camp furniture we have in the room and the plane theme (Tyler bedding). We love the two lights - one in the base and one regular under the shade. We found the base light too bright to be a nightlight, but we have this on a nightstand right next to the bed. The shade is also a nice true red.

very misleading!!

The lamp itself is very nice and good quality but the picture needs to be edited to reflect the product more accurately. It makes it appear that it is nickle but it is actually brown, which you would have NO idea based on the picture they have online. I plan on keeping it but I definitely thought I was getting something else!

2 lights in one!

Love, Love, Love this light! The base is a dark charcoal and the lamp shade is a true red...it looks so good in my son's nautical themed bedroom. We love that the base has a light that we use as his night light and the regular lamp light is great for reading books.

It's A Beautiful Lamp, However....

the base came in black and I thought it was supposed to be a brushed nickel finish. I'm going to keep it anyway b/c I think it's still beautiful and will do fine in they baby's nursery.

Really like this lamp. It is sturdy and well made, and also very cute. My son really likes the night light function - it isn't too bright as to disturb him, but offers just enough light for him to feel secure and for us to check on him at night. We have purchased many items from PB Kids and this is on par with the quality of merchandise we have come to expect from the company. Good purchase.

It is a gorgeous lamp that is made well, however, the color is almost black. In the picture, it appears to be a brushed nickel, so I was shocked to see a very dark base...

Good, but too bright

The lamp is of nice quality and works well. Unfortunately, my two boys, ages 3 and 6, found the night light too bright to sleep. The main reason I bought the lamp was for the night light, but we are keeping it anyway because it looks so nice and is very useful for bedtime reading.

red lamp shade

When I received the lamp shade, I didn't realize that the inside of it looked different than my other lamp shades. It has a ring that hangs way down low. So, I made it work with my lamp base but it doesn't fit correctly. It doesn't fit with the kind that have a little ball that screws off at the top if you know what I mean. I couldn't find a red lamp shade anywhere else and it looks nice in my son's room.

Neat Lamp

This lamp is really neat! I use it as a night light in my sons nursery. I also like the dual lighting option...It throws off enough light to manuever around and put my son to sleep. It's standard size and easy to put together. Great find!

This is a perfect lamp for a baby's room or small child's. I loved it when I was nursing my son because I could turn the nightlight on without shining too much light, yet it was enough to read by. I'm going to order another one for when my son moves into his big boy room to make room for the one on the way!

We just got two of these lamps and the coordinating shades for our baby boy's room and are so impressed. They are very well made and look even better than they do in the photo. Like another reviewer said, I like how the shade is secured to the lamp base so it stays straight. The metal is slightly darker than it appears in the photo, but only subtly so.

Nice light, but be warned... you have to purchase a PB shade for the lamp. Other shades wont fit on the base.

Great Lamp

I purchased this lamp for my young son's room. I was immediately impressed by the quality. It is well made and the lamp has a round screw mechanism to hold the lamp shade in place so it sits prefectly. My son really likes the nightlite feature. When my older son saw the lamp he immediately asked if he could have one for his room too.
