Great toddler bed!!!
September 14, 2012
My toddler is 2.5 years and is tall for her age, this bed is PERFECT!!! She loves the ease of getting on and off the bed. The quality is also adequate for the price.

A pain to assemble
November 27, 2011
The bed itself is pretty nice, especially the frame. However, the assembly was ... not so nice. Here were the problems:
1. Several of the thicker self tapping screws for the side rails would not go in all the way. I had to back them out and drill holes for them. If I hadn't had a drill with an appropriate size bit, I would have been out of luck.
2. The mattress support slats are very rough - you'll need to be careful to avoid splinters.
3. You need to apply the right amount of pressure to push the screws for the slats in while rotating them, or you will strip the hole.
Expect assembly to take a few hours. If anyone from Pottery Barn is reading this, consider switching the guard rails to a bolt and hidden nut arrangement like the frame, get the manufacturers in Indonesia to sand off the splinters on the slats, and consider putting pegs in the side rails to secure the slats instead of requiring each on to be screwed in separately.

Nice Bed - Logistical Nightmare
November 14, 2011
Nice bed, once we got all the pieces in. At first, they gave us the wrong parts. We got home to find the Catalina activity table and bed side rails. And the table was scratched! Not good, when you take a work day off to put together a bed for our son. Second time, we were given a bed with missing parts. Luckily we had counted the pieces at the store. Then husband had to drill holes deeper in the rails to get bolt to fit properly. Caution to parents: make sure they order AND give you all three pieces (1. the headboard 2. the railings and 3. the mattress). Manager at Sherway Gardens called to follow up on the weekend how we made out. Told them we had to do additional drilling to get the final bolt in. Finally have it all together and my son loves it. It is well made and solid.

Excellent quality
October 24, 2011
I bought the bed in white 6 months ago. My 2.5 years old son need to graduate from crib to a big boy bed. The quality is exceptional. The lack of footboard is a concern. We place the foot part against the wall and seem to be fine. Solid product!

LOVE THIS BED
June 10, 2011
I got the white bed love the wood is very steady and it looks so cute in my daughters room. I would just recoment to bring back the footboard cause kids do roll out of bed from the footboard is missing but I put a foam wedge and it works but if you bring back the old bed with the footboard I will sell this one and buy that one or maybe you should make just the fotboard and sell the part of the bed n we can purchase just the foodboard.

Toddler Bed in need of footboard
May 21, 2011
In the PBK stores the brochure for the Catalina toddler bed shows a footboard, but now it seems you discontinued it. Not a good idea for toddlers. PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the footboard. What would be the reason for eliminating it anyway?

Bring back the footboard!
November 4, 2010
We purchased the older version of this bed earlier in the year. It had a footboard. We are now in need of another toddler bed, but I'm terribly disappointed they did away with the footboard! Our children sleep all over the bed, and I can see them rolling right off the end. Please bring back the footboard! I give just 2 stars to this new version.

My son's toddler bed!
September 6, 2010
We recieved this bed from Nana and Grandad for an early birthday present for my son. My son is almost two and I just recently had a new baby. We needed the crib he was in so he got a toddler bed. I love this bed! The one he recieved is a little different than this one but still the same bed. His has a footboard, that looks like the only difference.

Love this bed!
August 7, 2010
I bought this bed about 6 months ago, but it seems that PBK recently changed the way it looks. My son's bed has a lower headboard and it has a footboard. I have the darker wood, but now they sell navy instead of white. Otherwise, it appears to be the same. My then 2.5 year old son was tired of feeling trapped in his crib so I was looking for a quality toddler bed. In the baby stores all you see are the cheap cartoon ones. I was so happy to see a dark wood one so it would match his other nursery furniture. It looks great in person and was very easy to put together. I love that it is low to the ground and has guardrails. He transitioned really well to it and we refer to it as his "big boy bed." I also just bought the matching crib for my new son.

Best Toddler Bed After an Extensive Search
May 31, 2010
Love this low-to-the-ground model with built-in side rails. Did not come with "pre-drilled holes" for bed slats or side rails as described in manual (had to drill them myself)...only reason I gave it a 4-star rating. Classic PB style and goes with any decor...unlike many models out there (I came across many Thomas, Sponge bob and other very ugly looking toddler beds which are very child-specific and likely will not be sought-after hand-me-downs). And my son loves his new bed...now if I could only keep him in it!

Happy Toddler Bed
April 28, 2010
We are very happy with the quality of bed. It matches the crib that we also bought from PB who will have a new occupant! It was straightforward to assemble. It's perfect for our city apartment. I'll hope to buy one for #2 as well.

In addition to being a simple, beautiful design, this PBK toddler bed is well-built and sturdy. It was easy to assemble. My toddler loves it! I like a company with consistently good customer service and products and PBK has both!

Perfect Bed
March 2, 2010
My 2.5 yr old son's room is a good size, but I thought a twin bed would take up too much space. This bed is perfect! He loves it and it will fit him for a good 3 years (he is 75th percentile in height and weight). Our second son is due soon and I'm hoping that when we move from here in 3-4 years, the boys will share a room with bunk beds. This bed is a perfect transition for my son. Quality is great and the bed is very sturdy. We are thrilled!
