Sturdy Well Made Chair
September 28, 2012
Sturdy well made chair and easy to put together. A small adult may use it. Have to be careful getting in and out though because one can trip over the feet of the chair. I think this is a design flaw.

I wish I had noticed the word "redesigned"
May 8, 2012
I purchased an antique white Carolina swivel chair two years ago for our adult size desk. I like it so much, I decided to buy another Carolina swivel chair for a different adult sized desk in our house. The "redesigned" chair is much much smaller than the previous one. Obviously, if I had measured before ordering, I would have been aware of this--but I did not. I would have never ordered this chair if I had know it really is only a 2/3 size chair. We have kept it, but it looks out of scale with our desk. Fortunately I am not a giant so it (barely) works. Be forewarned--this truly is a children's chair. The quality is great, as usual, and assembly a snap.

My daughter loves the chair . I find it to be very sturdy. I wish the color was a truer white.

Okay Chair
January 21, 2011
My daughter had to have the swivel chair for her desk. This is the second chair, as the first one had a crack in the seat. Thankfully PBK exchanged it. I agree that for the price it should come assembled. It was rather difficult to put together. Fortunately the base does not wobble, but getting the casters to go in, then stay in, was another matter. The directions are not clear about them. I had to have my husband force them in, as no amount of trying on my part would get them to go in and stay.
Once completely put together, it does look good. However, my child swings side to side in it, which has taken the paint off of her desk where the chair hits it and off of the side of her chair. This is when the touch up pen comes in handy.
If I ever have to purchase another chair for her desk, it will probably be a stationary one.

SMALL SEAT
October 27, 2010
NICE CHAIR, THE SEAT IS KIND OF SMALL FOR AN OLDER CHILD. MY SON IS 11 AND THE CHAIR LOOKS QUITE SMALL WHEN HE SITS IN IT!

expensive and disappointing
October 14, 2010
I thought this chair was expensive, but my daughter wanted a 'rolling chair' (like her brother's), so I caved. We bought it to go with the Madeline Writing Desk, which we're very happy with. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because I like the ball-style wheels, which roll more easily on carpet.
For the most part, I'm pleased with the chair except for two things: 1) it seems a bit scaled down. I'm sure that's a good thing for little kids, but I don't know how well that will last over the years. Plus, the desk doesn't seem scaled down. 2) the mechanism that attaches the chair to the base wobbles. It doesn't seem to be put together right, although we followed the directions and even double-checked to make sure. I'm going to go by the PBK store in our area to examine their chairs; because, I'm pretty sure theirs don't wobble.
I just think for the price, it should've come assembled, full-size; and it, at least, should feel secure!
