I did read the reviews and was prepared for the easy scratching, and chipping. I was not prepared for incorrect instructions, and stickers that can only be removed with Goo Gone.
One section had duplicate pieces, and missing another, and had to be sent back. Lots of assembly for almost $2000.00.

Scratches easily with PBK baskets

In white it is beautiful but like other reviews the PBK baskets scratch & chip it terribly & the touch up pen doesnt fix it. PBK baskets dont fit in the bottom. Plastic storage boxes from elsewhere fit and dont scratch. I wish I hadnt bought the baskets as the cabinet only looks good from the doorway across the room. A shame when we bought a hole wall customised design system. Sturdy.

Smells bad, Paint has chipped already

I have had the Cameron 3 base, 3 cubby wall system not even a month. I had to send back a base because the finish was chipped. Customer service was EXCELLENT regarding this. However today I go to put books away and notice another base is chipped. My daughter is not even a year old so definitely not hard on this system at all and it does not look like it is going to hold up. I spent months looking at wall systems and thought PBK would be a sound investment. I love everything about how this wall system looks but the quality I wanted isnt there. Also when I first received this I had to "air it out" in the garage for a week because the lacquer smell was so bad and I was told this is "normal."

Best Storage Ever

I get SO many compliments on this!! I have it in honey and I love it!! If you get Sabrina baskets to go in it make sure you put some felt on the corners of the baskets on the bottom. They will start to scratch the shelves if you don't. Otherwise the baskets look great and work great in it!

6-cubby w/3-cabinet w/doors base

I've read online some complaints that this unit was not big enough for toys but the cubbys sure are a wonderful size for crafters. My new cabinet is being loaded with fabrics, threads, paints, etc. for making cloth dolls. I was so happy I've ordered a 2nd 6-cubby unit. Yes there was an odor when I opened each box but that dissipated within a very few hours.... assembled easily .. high quality wood construction for a moderate price ....

We purchased this set with the open bottom bins instead of the drawers. It looks much nicer than the four plastic toy boxes that we had. It is in the corner of our living room with our daughter's PBK table and chairs and toy box. We have this in the honey color and have the somerset bins that are no longer available. I do recommend it but also recommed getting the touch up pen for those scratches that do happen.

Nice looking but VERY soft wood

Like most of other reviews, I agree that this organization unit is very nice looking. However, the wood is SO soft that it's impossible to prevent scratches and dings. It's in our play room, so I try not to let that bother me, but it was pretty spendy considering how easily it got scuffed up.

Great storage option; super-functional

We purchased this system for a little boys' room. The cubbies and drawers offer much-needed storage for everything from toys to clothes to books. My 6-year-old and 3-year-old can easily access all of their stuff. The piece is sturdy (and super-heavy). We bought the piece in the Rustic Sun Valley Espresso stain and put it in the same room as several other PBKids pieces in the Sun Valley Espresso stain (which is a bit darker with less red in it), but the pieces all work really well together. This piece is kiddie-sized. It's a lot shorter than you would guess based on the pictures featuring the product. If you're looking for something 'standard' size, you'd need to add a fourth row of cubbies on top. It should also be noted that the wood is soft and dents/scratches easily.

Safe & Holds Lots of Stuff

We've had the 6 cubby and 3 base set for over a year now and love it. It was very easy for my husband to assemble. He was pleased that each separate unit screws into each other and that it came with the wall mounting hardware. When installation was complete, my husband stood on it, pulled on it, pushed on it and couldn't get this thing to budge. This is no way it could ever tip over onto our girls. Also, it holds more than you can imagine. We have a number or storage baskets that hold all of our girls non-hanging clothing and accessories, along with sheets, blankets, towels, toys, stroller and carseat accessories and we even have a few cubbies left for some decorating. After a year of use, we have only one scratch and it was my fault - not the kids. I actually dropped the pointed end of a pair of scissors right into the unit. I plan to give the touch up pen a try soon.

Positive Comments: Good looking, stores lots of toys. I did shop around a bit and could not find anything with a similar style which really does work well for storing toys. Negative Comments: I am quite surprised with the quality of the wood. It is SO soft and scratches EXTREMELY easily. Just in putting it together each piece now has a ding or a scratch. One piece I scratched just with my fingernail. I do not have ANY other piece of furniture in my house that scratches this easily. Considering these shelves are specifically for toys (and not to mention the price), I can't imagine how banged up they are going to get. Also, the whole unit is much shorter in real life than it appears in the picture. I don't know how they managed to get it to look so tall. In a way it's not all bad because I have big baskets on top that I can reach easily. But I guess get out your measuring tape and be prepared for how tall they will actually be in your home.

Cute but not worth it

This came in 9 huge boxes, all but the bottom drawers had to be put together. Potterybarn did NOT supply the proper hardware to attach the 9 parts. My husband and I had to keep it a foot away from the wall to attach the screws, but when we went to push the item back to the wall the tiny, tiny little screws broke. We had to then go to the hardware store and buy our own screws which worked better. It took a lot of pushing and kicking to make all the parts look streamlined. What a pain!!

Nice, but...

Looks fantastic and very easy to put together. The base comes assembled, and the cubbies take about 5 minutes a piece. However, my only disappointment with this piece is that it is a VERY SOFT wood! My fingernail scratched it! There are a lot of nicks and scratches on it from my little kids. Happy with the product though, just wish it was a harder wood that wouldn't scratch so easily. We get comments on this unit all of the time!

Great but smells strong

Great for a playroom. Easy to assemble. Good quality. The drawer base has a ledge that my son already drives cars on. We had to open window though, the wood smelled so strongly of the stain or varnish it filled the room. We're hoping it dissipates soon but it hasn't yet.

I have never bought furniture from PB, but this one item won me over for structure and quality. It was easy to assemble and like most things I have to assemble this product went together perfectly without any man handling or redrilling of holes so that they fit. Everything fit without a fight which I loved. This will truely last for a long time. The one downfall I would have to say is the connecting brackets on the back seem a little bit flimsy for holding such a heavy structure together. The screws were real small and short which makes me think if moved too much it could strip and pull out.

Cameron Cubby & Open Base Set

I purchased 2 of these for my 3 yr old's playroom. They were delivered in several boxes but were fairly simple to assemble. One piece managed to get scratched but I covered it with Old English & its fine. I purchased a couple of canvas storage totes at a local discount store and they look great. I originally purchased 2 units but am going to purchase a 3rd one. The height is nice for any size kid and I love the open bottom for larger toys/trucks etc.
