DO the job...kinda
September 4, 2012
We used to live on a corner, while still a residential neighborhood in the early morning there were lots of cars that pulled up to that stop sign while going to work, school, etc. It would wake up my kids pretty easily, not to mention the light that came in their east facing windows. These did help block out sound and did block out all the light where the panels covered, but not on the sides or the middle. I am not sure what could be done to resolve this and while I am still glad that we had them as they did keep most light out, it would have been much better for them to have covered the whole window better. We hung out by rings on the double rod, and it just seemed like they were too far from the windows themselves. Maybe we had weird windows?

Not blackout
March 29, 2012
The description of the item I purchased does not match. These panels are not 100% black out, more of a dimming effect.
I had purchased blackout panels previously from PBK, which were truly effective.
These seem thin and cheap.

Good, but not exactly blackout
March 21, 2012
I got the 40 x 80 panel for my 5 mo olds nursery and it's advertised as a "Blackout Panel," but I would say it's more of a light dimming panel. I would say it filters about 80% of the light, which is pretty good but not blackout. It was very easy to put up and it works for our little one, so we've kept it up, but for the money, if you want total blackout, then you might want to try another panel. If you're okay with a little bit of light, this is good, but you might find one cheaper that does the same. Good luck! :)

BLACKOUT
May 10, 2011
This panel is great for our long Alaskan days in the summer. Should have ordered two because not wide enough, but still better then the dark sheet I was using before.

Worth the $! How did we live without them???
April 8, 2011
We live on a country road, but one that is constantly traveled by fire & EMS crews. When our daughter started sleeping in her room, the sirens would always wake her and really scare her. I wasn't too big on the idea of curtains because our house doesn't have curtains anywhere in it. Plus, I was very skeptical about paying so much for these panels...I looked at every other store I could think of for something similar but less expensive with no luck. So, finally I went out on a limb in hopes that the outside noise would be muffled somewhat. I had my fingers crossed the whole time I awaited shipment because I was so worried that I had wasted $100. My husband and I hung them yesterday (with a cute set of pink curtains that we got at another store). My daughter is taking a nap right now and 2 fire trucks and 1 ambulance just went by and she did not wake up! AMAZING! I don't even know how anyone could or would live without this product! It is definitely worth every penny!

Definitely Blocks Out Light
January 23, 2011
These blackout panels more than do the trick and darken a room almost entirely. They are very heavy and sturdy. Only thing is the width - 40" - is not wide enough. Even though they are intended to be pulled staright across the window with no "gathers", we still needed to purchase extra panels for our son's 72" wide window to get that true blackout effect without light infiltrating at the sides orwhere the panels meet in the middle.

Works great could be wider
May 22, 2010
The panels work really well but I needed 4 instead of just 2 for the width of my windows. So consider that when you are purchasing.

Clever Idea!
April 21, 2010
I have searched numerous stores to find s/thing similar to this. My time was wasted, until I found this panel w/PBK. They arrived yesterday, and just as I expected, the quality and functionality are wonderful. So simple to use.

Doesn't hang right always falls down!
April 6, 2010
I ordered these because I needed to block out light in our baby's room---They are really hard to attach to the curtains, and they are ALWAYS falling down! Also, they weren't wide enough to fit the PB kids curtains I bought, so it defeated the purpose--Would not recommend, I am now going to buy the ones that are already built in, those work much better.

Fantastic!
March 5, 2010
These blackout panels do the trick! Our daughter's bed gets eastern and southern light and I was dreading the mornings and the wonderful sun pouring in to wake her up. NO MORE! Her room stays nice and dark and I am confident that during the summer, the panels will cut down on the amount of light that comes in and she won't be up with the birds!
