Insert Poor Quality

I bought this bean bag for my son for his first birthday. The quality of the cover seemed great, but I can't say the same for the insert. After 6 months the filling started spilling. I took the cover off and found that almost all of the seams on the insert had torn. I attempted to stitch them, but found it pointless as every time I stitch one, another one rips. My son is 18 months and mostly used it to read books or watch TV, nothing rough!
I bought it from Pottery Barn for the quality and am very disappointed. A lot of money for only 6 months worth of use!

My kids just loved these beanbags, until they used them for a while and are now flat as pancakes. I spent the extra money at Pottery Barn because I wanted a quality item that would last. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase a replacement insert and they are now useless. I really expected more from Pottery Barn.

Great kids room seating

Although it was a bit tricky to stuff the bean bag into the cover I love this sitting option for the boys room. It is comfy enough for watching movies or playing games. I like the fact that the stuffing is full and sturdy. When no one is sitting on it the shape is maintained.

The bean bag is exactly what I would expect from Pottery Barn. The fabric of the cover is sturdy and the embroidery is adorable. The only drawbacks are that the insert wasn't easy to get in the cover and once together it is pretty stiff. We bought the bean bag for our two year old son. He loves it, but it is difficult for him to get cozy. My husband and I are trying to mold it a bit, but I think it will take time. Overall, very nice!
We did have a hiccup when we first received the bag. The insert zipper was partially opened and the box was full of filling. When we were stuffing it into the cover, we noticed a rip in the insert material. Customer service was awesome! They immediately sent us a new insert and had the damaged one picked up the next day. Turns out the fabric on the first insert must not have been right, it was very flimsy almost paper-like. The second insert was made of a bedsheet-type material. We have not had any problems with the new one.

It's a hit!

My 2 year old got this for his birthday, since he is always laying on his older sister's. He loves it, just as we knew he would. It's a great addition to his bedroom, and very comfortable for Mom and Dad, too. :)
Slight problem was that they sent the wrong insert (for a hybrid anywhere chair) even though my packing slip clearly stated I ordered the bean bag insert. Customer service was great, and my local store exchanged it for me with no trouble at all. Great customer service all the way around, PBK!
Personalization that I ordered was perfect.

Very durable bean bags! I have to admit that the bean bags are more comfortable without the cover on, they mold better to your body, however with the cover on they are a litte more structured and durable!

Adorable Bean Bag Chair - Great Service

We ordered this darling chair for our grandson. When we had a problem with the shipping, Pottery Barn's customer service went right to work and made everything MORE than right. The personal touch was a surprise in this automated world.

Getting plenty of use

I purchased two beanbag chairs -one in navy the other in red- for each of my sons. It has taken a bit to "break them in" but the boys use them all of the time. It was a little burdensome to fit the slipcover over the actual beanbag at first, but after figuring out the intial one, the second one was much easier. My one complaint has to do with the embroidery. The thread on my one son's name started to come undone after only having it for two days. This is the second embroidery issue I have had. (The other had to do with stockings I had ordered for the boys at Christmas time that were the wrong font size.) Customer service was quick to respond, however, and I'm waiting for a replacement.

Great cover; Terrible insert

the cover is great - exactly as described. the filling does not feel like a beanbag - it feels like chopped up plastic foam (which now makes sense since i just read that the insert is made up of polysterene, whatever that is!)
the beanbag does not squish and mold to one's shape. it is more like a lumpy, uncomfortable pillow. i wish i could refill it with proper beans!

I have been through 4 of these beanbags for my two youngest kids. I've noticed, as they get older (now 5 and 8) they don't last as long. My most recent order (End of March 11) was the navy one for my son. It is now almost flat! I am extremely displeased with this and will call PBK and request a refund. I love PBK and so do my children but, we are done with the beanbags.

great product, but...

I bought this for my little boy. He is six months old now but I wanted him to have it for when he is older too. I like the product but it is very hard to put the insert in the cover and at first it was hard to "mold" it to a comfortable position for him to sit in. We are using it daily now though to help loosen it up and it is getting better. Would recommend it!

Just bought this for my 2.5 yr olds new big boy room. It's really great, exactly what I expected. As I had read in other reviews, the bag would arrive too filled with beans and it did. I took out about 1/3 and am storing for later. It's now perfect! And I really love that you can lock the zipper in place, my little guy loves to unzip anything!

I have bought a PB beanbag for all of my kids when they turned 2. I now have 4 of them. The quality is excellent and they last a long time. I have washed the covers and they come out looking like new. The only thing that I wish PB still carried was the bag insert. After 7 almost 8 years it is a little flat, but still very useable.

Absolutely love the beanbag chair. The slipcover is soft and tough as mentioned and comes right off so it is easy to wash when need be. Yet, it has a lock built into the zipper so the kids can't get into it. We had ours personlized and it just looks really nice.
My only complaint was that the beanbag was so stuffed that we weren't able to sink right into it. We actually removed 1 trash bag of beads and now they are perfect and the kids love them.

I purchased this as a Christmas present for my 4 year old. The slipcover is great. Heavy, nice and washable. The insert though, is a little on the firm side. You can't really "snuggle" into the beanbag. It's almost like you are sitting on top of it versus sitting in it. I am keeping it hoping that as it gets used more and more it breaks in and gets a little more "snuggle" friendly.
